Undercover Look at Appalling Puppy Cruelty

Yesterday, I let you know about our five-month undercover investigation into Virginia puppy mills. The investigation was covered by USA Today, several Virginia newspapers, Entertainment Tonight, and all of the television network affiliates in the Washington, D.C. area. Today, I’m sharing our video results, which were broadcast on television last night.

After watching this video, you’ll understand the meaning of the term “puppy mill.” Across Virginia, nearly 1,000 breeding operations are churning out thousands of puppies every year—operating largely unregulated, in violation of state and federal laws, and producing puppies with mental and physical problems. Before our investigation, few people knew the extent of the state's puppy mill problem. We fear that puppy mill operations are underestimated in other states throughout the country.

We’ve exposed Virginia’s puppy mills, and now we’re urging the USDA to clamp down on these unregulated breeders. Please watch our video, then write to the USDA. And be sure to spread the word.
