You’ve heard from Scotlund Haisley several times here on the blog since he joined The HSUS in January to head our Emergency Services team. Yesterday he arrived back at our headquarters after leading The HSUS’s care of animals evacuated out of Hurricane Gustav’s path. But he and his team aren’t expecting a long layover—we already have personnel positioned along the Eastern seaboard to prepare for Tropical Storm Hanna, and we’re keeping a cautious eye on Ike and Josephine as looming problems.

Before returning to the field, Scotlund wanted to be sure to thank you for your support of our animal rescue efforts (see his video message) and ask if you might consider a special gift to our Disaster Relief Fund as we continue our work to shelter animals from the storm. Your support is the backbone of our response efforts, and communities across the country have you to thank for the safety of their animals.
